What do I get in return for my Membership fee?

Why should I choose Membership over a standard entry or Annual Pass?

By becoming a Member of the British Motor Museum, you will be supporting our efforts to achieve our goals to Collect, Conserve, Share and Inspire.

As an educational charity, with your support, the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust can continue to deliver long-term positive impacts on the lives of individuals through its work. In return, we offer a generous range of exclusive benefits (see above question) for you to enjoy.

Also with a Membership you can visit the Museum on any day that we're open. That is not possible with an Annual Pass or a standard entry.

What is Museum on the Move?

Museum on the Move is the highlight of the year for Members, providing the opportunity to meet members of our Collections Team as well as rides in vehicles from our collections. To find out more, please visit our Museum on the Move page.

How do I join?

Your easiest option is to join online at our Buy Membership page and to set up a Direct Debit. Alternatively, you can pay in full for a year. You can also join when you visit the Museum, speak to a member of the team when you arrive at our Pay Desk.

If I sign up with Direct Debit, when will my payments be taken?

An initial pro rata payment for the rest of the current month along with the first month’s payment will be taken, followed by 10 monthly payments on the 1st of each month.

Can I Gift Aid my Membership?

Unfortunately we're unable to accept Gift Aid donations for Membership. 

Can I buy a Membership using my Tesco Clubcard or other vouchers?

No, you cannot use Tesco Clubcard or any other third-party vouchers or discounts to buy Membership.

You can use a Gift Voucher for Membership from the British Motor Museum to redeem your Membership. To find out how, visit our Buy Membership page.

When I join, what will I receive and when?

Your Membership pack will contain a welcome letter, a Membership card, a souvenir Museum guide, your Membership pin badge and a car sticker. Your Membership pack will be ready to collect when you next visit, or you can choose P&P (UK Mainland only) at the time of purchase and pay a small fee to have it delivered to your door. Your Membership will start from the date of purchase.

We thought that you would like to know that your Membership card is 100% degradable meaning that when you dispose of it, it will break down in nine months to five years, depending on the environment, leaving no damaging toxins behind.

How do I book to visit the Museum or a Show as a Member?

Book a ‘Premium Members and Members ticket’ for your visit. Go to our Book Tickets page. Choose the date that you would like to visit, then click the Premium Members and Members option and enter the number of Members visiting.

Accompanying non-Members should book and pay for their entry via the ‘Buy Museum tickets’ option. All tickets are subject to availability.  

How do I book my Members private tour?

All private tours must be pre-booked a minimum of 2 weeks in advance of your visit and are subject to availability. Please download and complete the Members' private tours booking form and return it to the Bookings Team. Please visit our Members' Private Tours page for more information.

Can anyone else use my Membership card?

No, only the person named on the Membership card can use it. Photographic ID may be requested to validate its use when you visit.

Do need to display my Membership car sticker and wear my pin badge when I visit?

You are welcome to display your car sticker and wear your pin badge but this is not a requirement.

 

What do I do if I have changed my mind?

How do I renew my Membership?

If you pay annually, we will email you one month before your Membership expires to let you know and provide instructions on how to renew.

If you pay monthly by Direct Debit, your Membership will auto-renew after 12 months and we will email you one month before this to let you know. These auto renewals will continue until you contact us to cancel it.

What happens if I lose my Membership card?

Just let us know ahead of your next visit and we will be able to check your details and print you a new card - a £5 charge applies.
