British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Archive

The origins of the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust (BMIHT) Archive date back to the creation of the British Leyland Motor Corporation, a merger which brought together most of the surviving British Motor manufacturers who were themselves results of earlier mergers. As a result, about 97 companies are represented in the records held by the BMIHT Archive.

Today, the BMIHT Archive works to preserve and provide access to the historical documents, photographs, film and publications created by the businesses, organisations and people associated with the British motor industry.

The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust (BMIHT) Archive is the largest of its kind in the United Kingdom, and probably the largest motor industry archive in the world.
