The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust’s unique photographic archive contains over one million original negatives and transparencies dating from the beginnings of the industry. These images represent the most comprehensive record of the British motor industry in the world.
We are currently undertaking a major survey and conservation project to ensure the long-term preservation, accessibility and discoverability of this unique collection. In the meantime, all our available digital images can be viewed at online photo gallery - Motorgraphs.

It covers diverse subjects, including advertising and fashion from the 1920s to the 1960s and key figures in the motor industry such as Herbert Austin, William Morris (Lord Nuffield), Alec Issigonis, Cecil Kimber and the Wilkes brothers, as well as well-known national and international personalities and celebrities, royalty, political figures, actors and musicians such as Roger Moore, Sophia Loren and Ringo Starr and many others.
