If you've got a little more than that (or a lot more!) and need to make some space at home, look no further!
The Brick Bank is a fantastic scheme run by the Museum, collecting pre-loved LEGO® bricks and donating them to the children who need them most. These kids have often never owned these bricks before - so we can make a massive difference to their lives. Building with bricks develops a child's creativity, motor skills and well-being, all important for their future development. And, of course, recycling bricks rather than just throwing them away is much better for the environment, too!
We accept donations from anyone, from the young to the young-at-heart. Our volunteers will sort all the bricks we collect and put them together into Brick Bank bags. These bags will come with a photo of a suggested build for children to try and replicate, but the real joy will also come from bringing their own ideas to life through these bricks. We regularly donate completed bags to local Community Pantries, and Youth Clubs in areas of deprivation, where they will make their way to happy new homes!
If you'd like to donate your bricks, we have a Donation box available in the Museum Welcome Gallery. Stop by during your visit and deposit your bricks into the box. It's a great opportunity if you find you have too many at home! You can drop the bricks in to the Museum or give us a call and we can arrange for someone to come and collect them.

💡 The largest sculpture ever made from LEGO® bricks was a model of Tower Bridge made for Land Rover to promote the new Discovery in 2016. The model was made up of over 5.8 million bricks!

The Brick Bank Story So Far...
Since the Brick Bank scheme started in November 2022, we’ve been amazed by people’s phenomenal generosity.
Whether donations have arrived by post, collected by our volunteers, or simply dropped off in our collection box at the British Motor Museum, every single piece of LEGO® will go on to make a difference to the lives of so many children.

The task of collecting, cleaning and sorting these bricks is no small task and we couldn't do it without our fantastic volunteers.
Our volunteers greatly appreciate the opportunities Brick Bank presents to be active, meet new people, work both as part of a team and independently when collecting donations, preparing the bags, before distributing them to those who need them most.
A Minor Miracle
We have had roughly 775.6kg of LEGO® bricks donated since November 2024 -
This is approximately the same weight as the first Morris Minor built, on display here at the British Motor Museum!
The average LEGO® brick is 9.6mm thick so 1000 bricks would be 9.6m tall.
Our estimates show that if we were to stack all 775.6kg of donated bricks end to end, it would be around 7,445 metres tall (the distance between the British Motor Museum and Wellesbourne)
That is just short of the Muztagh Ata mountain (7,546m) in the Tibetan Plateau - the 49th tallest mountain in the world!
7,455 metres is the same as 16.8 Empire State buildings standing on top of each other!
