Have an exclusive peek behind the curtain as our Collections Team showcase the fascinating work they do to keep the Museum running!
This January, the British Motor Museum invites you to step behind the scenes of our Archive. Enjoy rare after‑hours access to our Archive Store, where you'll be able to discover hidden treasures and get up close to historic materials.
Take the opportunity to see materials, documents, and images which are rarely on display to the public. Our specialist team will be onsite to provide an exclusive tour of the Archive; to share their expertise, and even give you the chance to learn about how our signature Heritage Certificates are produced.
The Archive of the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust is a treasure trove of documents, records, plans, and drawings from Britain’s motor industry, including many antecedents of British Leyland, such as Wolseley and Morris Motors, in addition to others like Lucas, Aston Martin, and Vauxhall. The holdings include the earliest records of industry giants dating back to the 1800s, technical drawings and sketches of motoring classics, and the papers of prominent motor industry figures like Herbert Austin, founder of the Austin Motor Company, to Alec Issigonis, designer of the Mini.
Don't miss this opportunity to see behind the curtain!
