New additions to the collection

Lenham-Healey-SpriteLike the Lightning GT and the Rover BRM V16, the Museum frequently has cars on loan, from long term to very short term but loans are not the only way we get fresh displays in the Museum. We often get approached with offers of vehicles for donation through private owners or even bequests and, over the summer of 2022, we have a few new vehicles entering the workshop.

First to arrive is the newly acquired Lenham Healey Sprite, left to the Trust by Terry Brown in his will. Some eagle-eyed Members may have already spotted this on the ramps in the workshop as it is currently undergoing some checks before it will go on display.

More recently, his daughter Alison was able to visit the Museum and drive the car for the first time. Bringing with her a collection of photos and cuttings that documented how the car was modified over 50 years of use, it also recorded all the races, awards and
circuits he visited.

Coming soon to the Museum, the workshop team will be picking up two additional vehicles. The Rover Reavell Special is a 1935 Rover 12 modified chassis with a rebuilt 1950s body, works carried out by Abbots of Farnham and Reavell Garage. Owned by
the Langford family for over 50 years, the car even has its own passport for the journeys it has been on.

Finally keep your eyes peeled on your next visit for a 1971 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, in a striking two-tone gold, it will be hard to miss.
