BMW purchased Rolls-Royce from Vickers in 1998 and put a team together to design an entirely new car. A new factory at Goodwood opened in 2003.

The imposing new Phantom incorporates many traditional Rolls-Royce design elements: large wheels, short front overhang, long bonnet and rising sill line, giving visual reference to the car's effortless power.

A V12 moves the three ton car to a governed maximum of 149 mph. Behind the driver, the passengers sit in luxury, seated further back in the car for greater privacy. Every detail has been considered to make the journey as pleasant as possible. Even down to the umbrellas stored inside the rear doors, ready for that rain shower when they reach their destination.
