The 205 GTI was at the apex of the ‘hot hatch’ trend of the 1980s. This car has been restored by Tolman Motorsport to create the ultimate hot hatch for the modern driver.

This example in Sorrento Green is the prototype that Tolman Motorsport developed to test upgrading 205 GTI to, as Top Gear Magazine put it, “a better-than-new incarnation of a stone-cold  hot hatch classic”. Only a limited number of the Tolman Edition 205 GTI’s will be built, one of which can be seen in the exhibition Spoiler Alert!: The Hot Hatch Story.

Based close to the Museum, Tolman Motorsport is an automotive engineering company who are industry leaders in resto-mods (restored and modified vehicles). The Tolman Edition 205 GTI’s are complete rebuilds and restorations with 21st-century twists including a modern audio system, a digital dashboard that mimics the original dials as well as uprated performance and reliability.

Come and take a look at Spoiler Alert! for a slice of nostalgia and return to the golden age of the hot hatch!
