J12 M40
British Motor Museum
The name Cooper represents fast and sporty Minis. Originally developing the classic Mini into a race and rally winner in the 1960s, John Cooper lent his name to all following Mini Coopers. His name was eventually licensed by BMW for their racing-inspired high-performance cars for the new MINI line up.
This car is a turbocharged John Cooper Works edition and is the fastest MINI ever produced. It has an extensively modified engine, suspension and brakes and the aerodynamic changes, including a large front spoiler which reduces lift and improves airflow to the engine.
On loan from BMW Group.
