J12 M40
British Motor Museum
This cult microcar is the smallest production car ever made. It has no reverse gear, one seat and only one door but as only about 26 survive today an example is now worth in excess of £110,000. You can only turn the car around by pushing it or lifting it with a handle at the rear!
The first P50s were produced on the Isle of Man between 1962 and 1965 and only 47 were originally made. They could be bought cheap and with low fuel consumption so adverts at the time claimed, “car comfort, moped costs”. A revival in 2010 saw the P50 move to Nottinghamshire and about 15 are made every year.
On loan from the Isle of Man Motor Museum.
