The British Motor Museum is ready to welcome families this summer with £1 child tickets for visits between 25 June and 1 September. The Chancellor recently announced the UK government’s Great British Summer Savings scheme, which will temporarily reduce VAT on eligible family activities from when schools finish for the summer in Scotland (25 June) until children return to classrooms in England, Wales and Northern Ireland (1 September). In response to this new initiative, the British Motor Museum is bringing families this amazing summer saving, so they can experience the Museum’s over 400-strong collection of historic British cars for less!
With this offer, families can visit two incredible new exhibitions within the Museum at no extra cost. First, Forza Horizon 6: The Experience explores what happens when digital car culture meets the real world. For the first time in the UK, visitors can step inside the vibrant universe of one of the world’s most successful driving game franchises, combining a digital motoring world with real life driving adventures in an immersive exhibition designed for gamers, families, and car enthusiasts.
Secondly, ‘Spoiler Alert: The Hot Hatch Story’ celebrates these everyday heroes of the road, packed with legendary exhibits and interactive elements that bring 80s and 90s hot hatch culture to life in a space brimming with nostalgia. Iconic hatchbacks on display include a 1983 Renault 5 Alpine, 1981 VW Golf GTI, 1990 Vauxhall Astra Mk 2, 1981 Ford Escort XR3 and 1988 Peugeot 205 GTI.
The Museum was recently crowned Best Family Experience at the 2026 Warwickshire and West Midlands Muddy Stilettos Awards, and with more activities and experiences still to be announced for the holidays, there’s never been a better time to visit! This offer will run across all show days during this period as well – check out the Museum’s What’s On page for the full list.
Between 25 June to 1 September, Museum entry is just £1 for children (5-16 years), £18 for adults in advance or £21 on the day, £16 for concessions in advance or £19 on the day and under 5s are FREE. There is also the option to Gift Aid or donate your entry fee and get an Annual Pass in return at no extra cost.* To find out more information about the Museum, please click here.
