British Motor Museum
The British Motor Museum was the first conference venue in the UK to become Gluten Free Accredited back in 2015.
Recognising the Museum’s commitment towards championing and accommodating gluten free dietary requirements, national charity, Coeliac UK recently welcomed more than 120 professionals to the venue for its annual Gluten Free Industry Day.
At the event, expert speakers from international Gluten Free accredited food chains and brands, including Pizza Express, Asda and Warburtons shared their expertise, knowledge and learnings of the gluten free food sector with delegates.
Attendees from across the food suppliers sector were also able to take part in a series of interactive workshops and networking opportunities, helping to bring together consumers and corporates who are leading the way in gluten free living in today’s diverse allergen landscape.
The venue was chosen, not only due to its food offering in line with Coeliac UK’s own business ethos, but also because of its central location with direct motorway links and ample parking.
Coeliac UK had a dedicated parking area, used the Exhibition Gallery to welcome and register attendees and then used the venue’s spacious conference and exhibition suite for presentations and networking. Guests were also able to explore the Museum during their lunch break.
As the first conference centre in the UK to gain Coeliac UK GF accreditation, the British Motor Museum prides itself on having a separate designated gluten free kitchen on-site to cater for guests.
Christine Lewis, head of catering services at Coeliac UK, commented: “For Coeliac UK, it’s imperative that we book our events at gluten free accredited venues and not only did British Motor Museum provide just that, but the team and venue truly surpassed our expectations.
“For the day, our guests were served delicious gluten free meals, from breakfast through to afternoon tea, and the chef provided excellent support and menu choice throughout the entire process. Aside from the wonderful food, the British Motor Museum made an impressive and accessible location for our conference, not forgetting the incredible historic vehicle display, friendly staff and excellent facilities.”
Coeliac UK is the charity for people who need to live without gluten. One in 100 people in the UK have coeliac disease. The charity provides independent, trustworthy advice and support so people can live well, gluten free. For further information, please visit www.coeliac.org.uk
