To start the New Year, we have some more activities for you to enjoy together at home!
Despite these challenging times, we’ve been working hard to put together some activities for everyone to do at home. We really hope you’ll join in.
Just like there would be if you visited the Museum, we've put together a group of activities to keep you busy. Take a look around some showrooms, guess the colours and explore the cars of the future!
Find all of our activities in the tabs below. It would be great if you could share a photo of your completed activities. Either upload a picture via the 'Share' tab or email us and we'll share it for you. Alternatively, you can post on our Facebook page with the hashtag #ExploringBMM.
When you buy a new car, you have a chance to pick its colour. Use the riddles below to find out the name of these classic paint colours or make up a name for them yourself!
Some answers include a describing word before the colour name e.g. 'crimson red'.
Have you got your guesses ready? Click here for the answers!
Check out this Morris Showroom in 1965 - so bright and colourful! Can you spot the Mini? Or the Vanden Plas Princess 1100 and Wolseley 1100?
Brush up on your skills of persuasion and create a sales pitch for one of these cars. Don’t forget to research all the key features of the cars including its price! If you are stuck, check out Barry Wheeler in action in the 'Barry Wheeler Car Dealer' tab for some inspiration.
Watch Barry Wheeler, car dealer do what he does best - sell cars!
Electric cars aren’t a new trend. Check out the 1970 Crompton Leyland Electricar below. It is a prototype electric car based on the Mini! Unfortunately for British Leyland, it didn’t quite take off because the batteries were so heavy and so expensive.
What do you think cars in the future will look like? More importantly what fuel do you think they will use? Have a go at designing your very own futuristic car. Don’t forget to label what everything is and share your ideas on the 'Share' tab!
It would be great if you could share a photo of your completed activities. Either upload a picture below or email us and we'll share it for you. Alternatively post it to our Facebook page with the hashtag #ExploringBMM.
