Tis the season to be jolly at the British Motor Museum with a selection box of activities for all the family to enjoy from 8 to 23 December!
The Christmas season is upon us, and we’ve got a range of self-led activities with everything you need to celebrate the most magical time of the year! Visit the Museum and take on our festive family trail as you embark on a hunt around the Museum for elves hiding in the collection. You’ll have to keep your eyes peeled; these tricksters know how to make themselves hard to find.
Meanwhile, in our Learning Space, we’ve got more fun craft activities than you can shake a candy cane at! From creating your own Christmas cards to building tree decorations to cherish, there’s something for everyone.
This Christmas, we’re looking for helpers to track down a group of mischievous runaway elves! These rebels without a Claus are up to all sorts of mischief around the cars. Put your finding skills to the test on our family trail as you search high and low through the Museum to track down all the plush elves hiding away amongst the cars, ticking them off as you go.
Once you’ve found all of these cuddly tearaway toymakers, head back to the family activity station to collect your reward sticker!
You can deck your halls in style with a range of self-led Christmas craft activities running in the Learning Space throughout the holiday period!
There’s nothing quite like decorating the Christmas tree. For that final finishing touch, come to our Learning Space, and you can build your own motoring-themed tree decoration! We’ve got a range of templates for you to use, so choose your favourite car and get stuck in.
Are you looking for a Christmas card for your favourite car enthusiast? Why not make your own? We’ve got a range of templates based on a selection of British cars, which you can use to design a personalised Christmas card that any car fan is sure to love! How will you decorate yours?
Enjoy some quiet time colouring in our festive-themed colouring sheets. Decorate the Learning Space with your holiday artwork, or take it home to decorate your own walls!
In 1914, during WW1, Princess Mary wanted to make sure that all soldiers on the front line would have a present for Christmas - leading to the creation of the ‘Princess Mary’ boxes. These were filled with treats such as chocolate, a Christmas card and pictures of the Royal Family, the perfect thing to raise a soldier’s spirits at the most wonderful time of the year.
Stop by our Learning Space during your visit, and you can enjoy making your own Princess Mary box using our templates and even draw what you’d like to see in it!
NOTE: All activities are included in Museum admission. For these self-led activities, just drop by the Family Activity station to find out what is going on when! Activities are suitable for 5+ years with adult supervision unless otherwise specified.
