Museum to host new model railway show

The British Motor Museum is to host a brand-new family friendly show which is expected to attract hundreds of enthusiasts. The Great British Model Railway Show, which will take place on Saturday 9 & Sunday 10 November, is sponsored by Hornby who will have an exhibition stand as well as an exclusive Members Lounge for Hornby Collector Club members.

This superb event will feature more than 30 top-quality railway layouts in a variety of scales across the eras and ranging in size including “Mostyn”, an accurate scale rendition of the North Wales coastline from the 1970s and “Hungerford” which is a highly detailed Great Western Railway ‘OO’ layout based on the 1930s.

The show sponsors, Horny Hobbies, will be providing the “Hogwarts Express” layout demonstration and the opportunity for visitors to have a go with the Hornby Live Steam ‘OO’ layout. In addition, there will be over 10 modelling demonstrations showcasing skills such as making realistic trees and structures. There will also be 30 trade stands selling everything from complete train sets to scenic materials.

Tom Caren, Show Manager at the British Motor Museum said, "We’re delighted to host a brand-new show which I’m sure will be incredibly popular with model railway enthusiasts as well as families.
