Following Government advice in relation to COVID-19, we made the decision to close the British Motor Museum from 5pm on Friday 20 March until further notice.
Update as of 28 May
We continue to monitor the advice of the Government and will keep you informed about when we hope to be back open for visitors. The health of our visitors and staff takes precedence and we are busy planning the safest ways to reopen for when we are allowed.
Whilst our doors will be closed for a while, our team will try and lift your spirits with regular posts on our social media channels and we will also put our creativity to use in finding new ways to fuel your imagination for when we reopen. Some team members are working from home so if you need to get in touch please do.

If you have purchased a Museum ticket online for any date up until the end of June 2020 you will automatically be refunded. These refunds will be processed over the next few weeks and you will receive an email notifying you.
For Museum tickets purchased from July 2020 onward, we will review the situation. Please check back for more information.
Museum Annual Pass holders
For those that have an annual pass, the British Motor Museum will automatically extend its validity by the number of days the Museum remains shut as a result of COVID-19. For example; if the Museum is closed for 60 days, then your annual pass will automatically be extended by 60 days beyond the expiry date that is printed on your pass. Please be aware we will be unable to confirm the number of days until the lockdown is lifted.
You don't need to do anything to extend your annual pass, just bring it along when you next visit, after we have reopened. More information will be placed on the admission page of the website stating how many days the annual passes will be extended by, once we know more. Please double check before your visit.
Museum Gift Vouchers
If you have a Museum Gift Voucher we will extend its validity date by the number of days the Museum is closed. There is no need to contact us about this, it will automatically be in place for when you use it.

Ticket holders for postponed events
Your ticket will automatically be valid for the rearranged date. If you are unable to attend, you can claim a full refund up to 4 weeks prior to the rearranged date - please contact our Bookings Team.
If we don’t hear from you, we will assume that you are attending and we look forward to welcoming you.
Ticket holders for cancelled events
Your ticket will automatically be refunded. These refunds will be processed over the next few weeks and you will receive an email notifying you.

The Reading Room is closed to visitors and Archive services are reduced until further notice. Staff are working from home with access to emails so will respond to your enquiry in due course.
Heritage Certificates service
Heritage Certificate production is still running for standard Heritage Certificates ONLY and for our digitised marques – Austin Healey, Land Rover, MG, Mini and Triumph. While we can process certificates for these marques we will not be able to print or ship your certificate until we are back in the office. If you require a Heritage Certificate urgently for any of these digitised marques you can order an ‘email copy’ instead. This will be free of charge whilst the Museum remains closed, but please note an email copy will not be accepted by the DVLA as an official document.
You can select the 'email copy' option by ordering a Heritage certificate as normal and selecting ‘email copy’ when you get to the ‘Choose Products’ page. We will do our best to get this email version to you within our 28 day notice period. If you have any further enquires please contact us by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
The online Gift Shop is now closed as we have no means of processing or dispatching online orders. We apologise for any inconvenience.
The following Spring workshops have been postponed:

- Living with a Classic, Part 2 - Saturday 16 May (To Saturday 10 October)
If you have a ticket for one of these workshops, it will automatically be valid for this new date. However, if you are unable to attend on the new date, you can claim a full refund up to 4 weeks prior to the new date. Please contact our Bookings Team.
