The Science of Power! - February Half-term Fun

Exploring POWER and the science behind it!
Museum Open 10am-5pm

February half-term is all about exploring POWER and the science behind it!

Come and find out about the Museum's jet powered cars, have a go at making a jet powered car yourself! And enjoy our daily science shows with Professor Pickle and Doctor Pumpkin who will bring the science of power to life with a BANG!

'POWER' Science Shows

Every day at 11am and 2.30pm

POWER! Be it jet power, rocket power or gas power - come and discover the science behind it in our 20 minute fun family science shows. Professor Pickle and Doctor Pumpkin will explore the different sources of power and bring it to life with BANG!

To take part simply meet at the Family Station in the Welcome Gallery at the advertised time and come and be blown away. (Not literally we promise!)

Find the Fastest Car - Family Trail

Every day

Can you find the fastest car in the Museum? Pick up a trail sheet at the Family Activity Station and find the fastest car in each zone of the Museum, record its top speed to discover who's the fastest of them all!

When you've completed the trail speed back to the Family Activity Station to check your answers and collect a reward sticker.

Build a Jet Powered Car
Build a K'nex Rocket

Monday - Friday, 11am-3pm

Design and build your own rocket car out of K'nex and see how far it goes from the pneumatic rocket launch. This activity is delivered by the STEM ambassadors from MOD Kineton. We are sorry but you cannot take these rocket cars that you build home. 

Make a 'Jet Powered Car'!

Weekends, 11am-3pm

Come and make your very own jet powered car using a balloon! Then race it on the Museum's drag strip to see how far and fast it can go. You are welcome to take your car home to continue testing it. 

These 'Jet Powered Car' activities are suitable for 5 years plus with adult supervision.
NOTE: All activities are included in Museum admission. There is no need to pre-book, just drop by the Family Activity station to find out what is going on when! There will also be a range of drop activities available all day every day for your family to also enjoy. All activities are suitable for 3+ years, unless otherwise specified.
