Automotive History in Watercolour

Create your own automotive masterpieces using watercolours. This one day workshop will take you through all the steps necessary to create your watercolour painting.

You will be guided through the basic techniques of painting cars and auto memorabilia in watercolour. The workshop includes practical hints and tips from our experienced artist, Richard Cook. Get to grips with understanding colour, shade and light as well as basic composition. Receive tuition and guidance on ways of capturing ture likeness of metal and polished surfaces to help improve your painting.

Richard Cook is an artist and art teacher with many years' experience. He will inspire you to experiment with your composition and give you the confidence to try new techniques.

Suitable for beginners, intermediates and those wanting to refresh their skills.

Provided:

  • A range of drawing pencils
  • Water
  • A3 boards

 

What to bring with you

Essential:

  • Brushes
  • Suitable Paper
  • Pencils
  • Paint
  • Eraser
  • Masking tape or gum tape
  • Foldable seat/kneeling pad

Desirable but not essential:

  • Kitchen roll
  • Masking fluid
  • View finder (picture mount)
  • Water pot
  • Backing board bigger than A3
  • Artists easel (if you use one)
  • Camera

 

Please note lunch is not provided, however there is a café or you are welcome to bring your own packed lunch.

Price: £40 per person to include course, morning coffee, and entry to the Museum.
